WASHINGTON, D.C. /Mortgage and Finance News/ — NAMB, the organization that represents the interests of individual mortgage loan originators and small to mid-size mortgage businesses, today announced that it has appointed Valerie Saunders as the organization’s new executive director.
In her role as executive director, Saunders is responsible for directing the day-to-day operations that support the organization’s goals to increase its footprint among its target member base of mortgage brokers, mortgage bankers and mortgage businesses. Her role will involve collaborating with NAMB’s board to develop strategies, and developing and implementing processes that bring those strategies to fruition.
Saunders previously served as vice president of NAMB and has been with the organization, both as a member and as a board member, for over 15 years. In addition to her role as NAMB’s executive director, Saunders is vice president of Florida-based mortgage brokerage RE Financial Services, Inc.
“NAMB has experienced a great resurgence over the past several years, and our goal is to build upon that momentum and continue to grow our member base,” said Saunders. “A lot of originators and mortgage businesses don’t realize how much NAMB membership can protect their interests and increase opportunities for them. We have aggressive goals for educating our target members and growing the number of people who benefit from NAMB’s offerings.”
“Valerie has a proven track record of creating programs that benefit members and homeowners, as well as NAMB,” said Fred Kreger, president of NAMB. “We’re looking forward to further leveraging her knowledge, creativity and vision in growing our member base and NAMB’s influence in the coming year.”
NAMB is the largest mortgage-related individual member-based organization in the U.S. and was established in 1973. In addition to educational opportunities and business resources, NAMB actively lobbies and advocates for originators and homeowners on both state and national levels. NAMB’s membership includes brokers, bankers and businesses that include individual originators and small to midsize organizations.
NAMB has been representing the interests of small mortgage businesses, mortgage loan originators and their clients since 1973. The organization represents loan originators in all 50 states and the District of Columbia, and supports its members through initiatives and opportunities that help increase productivity and lower business costs, such as education, training and advocacy. NAMB offers rigorous certification programs that support the highest levels of professional knowledge and education. Its lobbying and advocacy efforts focus on national and state issues.
